I had the privilege to work with Alan at BT for some years. I also helped run a local football team with him and accompanied him to the Baggies on numerous occasions. Alan was kind and always full of life with numerous comical stories. A colleague once said that Alan could brighten up any dull rainy afternoon in the office and he was right. I shall miss him.

In rating my granddad out of 10, I would say 100. He was the best grandad I've ever seen, in fact I'd say he was tge best grandad in the world. I always loved the way we used to sing "Sweet Caroline " in his office a day the way he always told fun stories when we were having our roast dinner at the table. I'm sure everyone will miss him too. I'm sure he's having a lovely time in heaven.

It's been the hardest thing to lose you. You meant so much to me. But you are in my heart and that's where you'll always be. Memories of you will never fade. Thank yiu for over 42 years of happiness and love.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
